Cable Guidance In the standard configuration, the Hydrostart is fitted with a unique cable guidance system. This system is optimised for plasma cables and reduces the operational costs, caused by cable wear. A conversion kit for conventional steel cables is optional. The Hydrostart is fitted with very reliable guillotines that are totally resistant to dirt and pollution. The guillotines, suitable for both plasma and steel cables, require no maintenance or checks and are activated by a push button on the dashboard. |
HydraulicsThe best hydraulic components with proven quality in heavy industrial and agricultural equipment are selected. The hydraulic system is very robust and reliable. Temperature and pressure are constantly monitored by the electronic control system to prevent any damage to the system. The hydraulics need no maintenance other than periodic oil and filter replacement: Filters annually, oil after six years. |
DrumsThe Hydrostart is fitted with large diameter drums that require no extra gear with rollers to reduce cable wear. The drums are specifically designed for plasma cable but are suitable for steel cable as well. The drums can hold 8250 feet of cable and are enclosed to ensure that the cable stays on the drum. |
Power Unit The standard power unit is a Cummins QSM11-C, 11 liter, 335 bhp, common-rail diesel engine. The QSM11-C is a directly injected diesel engine with turbocharger and intercooler. The engine is built and tested for this application by the manufacturer. The engine speed is limited to 1800 rpm (2100 rpm max) for a reduced noise level, fuel consumption and elongated maintenance intervals. |
Chassis
The Hydrostart Club2 and Club4 are trailer based and supported by double axes, vehicle based is optional. The total weight is 2500 kg and the winch can be towed by 4 x 4 vehicles or tractors. The chassis is zinc plated for a durable rust protection. Optional low pressure tires can be fitted for soft, muddy ground. During operation, the winch is stabilised by manually operated legs.
Safety cabin
The cabin provides an ergonomic and safe environment for the winch driver. All the controls are placed on the central dashboard at the centre of the cabin. The controls can be operated from both seats. The cabin has a low floor plan and is easily accessible through the two doors on either side of the cabin. In standard configuration the cabin is fitted with steel wire mesh to protect the winch driver from the cable and parachute. For protection against the weather, a fully closed cabin is optional. This cabin is fitted with impact resistant safety glass with UV-filter and scratch protection. Optionally, a combined heating/cooling system can be mounted.
