The hydrostart glider winch

The Hydrostart glider winch is designed to match these three key elements: simplicity, durability and a minimum of maintenance.

 

Modular

Using standard modules the Hydrostart can be build in several configurations from 1 to 8 drums.
The modules can be placed on a special trailer (as done for the Aero Club Salland, NL) or directly on a truck where the diesel engine of the truck is also used to drive the winch.

Development

The Hydrostart glider winch is developed by a group of specialists of the Aero Club Salland. Because no existing winches on the market matched the strict demands of Aero Club Salland for a new and modern winch.

The Hydrostart prototype was officially taken in service by Prof. Dr. Ir. Wubbo Ockels (Dutch first astronaut) on the 24 th of April 2004 . During the 2004 flying season the Hydrostart winch made over 8000 starts, with great satisfactionary compliance of the Aero Club Salland
